BEIRUT, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon and Sweden signed an agreement on Thursday aimed at providing the Lebanese with advanced training in maritime and land transport, the National News Agency (NNA) reported.

The agreement was signed between Lebanese Public Works and Transport Minister Youssef Fenianos and Swedish World Maritime University, which aims at building the capacities in Lebanon of maritime and land transport.

"This will also increase trade between countries at lower costs," according to NNA.

Lebanon will host for the first time early next week the FIATA RAME conference (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations in the Region of Africa and Middle East) organized by the Lebanese Forwarders Syndicate.

The event will feature international and local speakers to discuss and debate the logistics and freight forwarding business, the digitalization and future of smart shipping which Lebanon aims to achieve.
