AMSTERDAM, June 24 (Xinhua) -- China claimed its first ever FIBA 3x3 Women's Basketball World Cup title, beating Hungary 19-13 in the final here on Sunday, and earning qualification for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Both China's men's and women's sides took part in this year's 3x3 World Cup, which ran from June 18 to 23, and while the men's team lost all three of its matches, the women fared much better, reaching the final after a dramatic 15-14 overtime win over Australia in the semifinal.

In the final, China started as they meant to go on, quickly settling into a 7-0 lead by the end of the first period, and ultimately running out comfortable winners.

In the men's competition, the United States defeated Latvia 18-14 to win the title.
