MONTPELLIER, France June 24 (Xinhua) -- Chinese ace striker Wang Shanshan seemed to have recovered from injury when she trained well on Monday in preparation for the FIFA Women's World Cup final 16 tie against Italy.

Wang showed no signs of pain at China's last training session before facing Italy on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old stretched and hopped on her right foot which was twisted in China's 0-0 draw with Spain last Monday.

She came off in the 55th minute at the game and needed a stitch in a cut on her right foot, according to Chinese head coach Jia Xiuquan.

"When she was substituted, we lost a stronghold upfront. We hope she could recover in time," said Jia.

China scored only one goal through Li Ying across their three group games.
