AMMAN, June 24 (Xinhua) -- The French Agency for Development (AFD) on Monday signed a loan agreement of 95 million euros (108.3 million U.S. dollars) with Jordan.

The loan is planned to support Jordan's state budget and the country's municipalities, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and State Minister for Economic Affairs Mohamad Al-Ississ said in a statement.

The minister voiced appreciation for the French government's support to the kingdom's vital sectors in light of the repercussions stemming from the Syrian crisis.

France has been supporting Jordan since 2003 to improve troubled socio-economic conditions triggered by international and regional challenges, according to the statement.
