German shares edge up Thursday

FRANKFURT, June 27 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged up on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index up 25.71 points, or 0.21 percent, to close at 12,271.03 points.

Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 8.70 percent. Global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard and semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies rose by 1.71 percent and 1.65 percent respectively.

Sportswear and equipment maker Adidas lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.92 percent. Multinational chemical firm Linde and reinsurance company Munich Re went down by 1.33 percent and 1.16 percent respectively.

Bayer was the most-traded share with a turnover of 565.0 million euros (642.4 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
