BELO HORIZONTE, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Fernandinho and Filipe Luis are in a race against time to be fit for Brazil's Copa America semifinal against Argentina here on Tuesday.

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho missed Brazil's penalty shootout victory over Paraguay last Thursday after suffering a knee injury during the hosts' 5-0 rout of Peru in their final group match.

Atletico Madrid left-back Luis was forced off at halftime of the quarterfinal in Porto Alegre because of a hamstring strain.

Both players missed the team's training session in Belo Horizonte on Saturday and instead received physiotherapy.

The injuries are the latest in a series of fitness concerns to hit Brazil during this tournament.

Star forward Neymar was ruled of the competition after suffering an ankle ligament tear in early June while Ederson, Cassio, Militao, Richarlison and Arthur have also encountered injury setbacks.
