China unveils diving squad for Gwangju World Aquatics Championships

JINAN, July 1 (Xinhua) -- China has named a team of 18 divers, including Olympic champions Shi Tingmao, Chen Aisen, and Cao Yuan, for the World Aquatics Championships in Gwangju, South Korea.

Shi Tingmao struck gold in the women's 3m springboard and synchronized 3m springboard at the last Championships in Budapest in 2017. Shi and Wang Han have been on form in the women's synchronized 3m springboard this season and will pair up for both events.

In women's 10m platform, all three divers are new to world championships. Lu Wei will take part in both 10m platform and synchronized 10m platform, while 14-year-old Chen Yuxi will also compete in the 10m platform.

Olympic gold medalist Cao Yuan will take on three events, including men's 3m springboard, 3m synchro, and synchronized 10m platform. Olympic champion Chen Aisen will only participate in men's synchronized 10m platform.

The World Aquatics Championships begin on July 12, and will end on July 28.

3m springboard - Shi Tingmao, Wang Han

10m platform - Chen Yuxi, Lu Wei

synchronized 3m springboard - Shi Tingmao/ Wang Han

1m springboard - Peng Jianfeng, Wang Zongyuan

3m springboard - Xie Siyi, Cao Yuan

10m platform - Yang Jian, Yang Hao

synchronized 10m platform - Chen Aisen/ Cao Yuan

Mixed 3m springboard - Yang Hao/ Chang Yani

Mixed 10m platform - Lian Junjie/ Si Yajie
