WINDHOEK, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Namibia national football team coach Ricardo Mannetti says his team's best was not good enough, and that his players must use their difficult experience at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to improve for future encounters.

After a dismal showing in the tournament in which his side lost all three of their games, Mannetti called his players' response unacceptable.

"I expected our key players to deliver and they did not turn up. We created chances and we could not score," said Mannetti.

Mannetti identified immaturity from his players in their 4-1 defeat to Cote d'Ivoire on Monday evening.

"I am disappointed because we made them look average and then we allowed them to make us look like high school kids and that is not right at all, too contrasting. We gave them opportunities to score and that is unacceptable," added Mannetti.

Namibia finished bottom of Group D after losing all their games, while Morocco finished top with nine points.

Morocco and second-placed Cote d'Ivoire will now proceed to the knockout stages of the Egypt-based tournament.
