SANAA, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Yemen's Houthi rebels said on Tuesday that they had carried out 26 attacks against military targets at Saudi Arabia airports over the past two months.
A statement by Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said that "21 attacks were carried out by bomb-laden drones and five other attacks by missiles."
Sarea added that the attacks targeted military facilities at three Saudi airports of Abha, Jizan and Najran during May and June.
"We reiterate our call to all civilians to stay away from Saudi military facilities. Our attacks will not stop until the aggression on our country stops," he said in the statement.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Saudi-led coalition announced that Houthi militia attacked the Abha International Airport in the southern Asir province of Saudi Arabia, injuring nine civilians.
A statement by the coalition spokesperson Turki Al-Maliki said that eight of the injured are Saudis, while the rest is Indian. He revealed that all the injuries were initially stable and transferred to hospitals.
Abha airport has been targeted by Houthis several times. In an attack last month, a Syrian was killed, and seven other civilians were injured.
Al-Maliki said that the Houthis continue their "immoral practices" by targeting civilians and civilian objects protected under international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
Saudi Arabia has been leading a coalition to fight in Yemen for more than four years in support of the exiled Yemeni government against the Iran-allied Houthis.
