KUNMING, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Police in southwest China's Yunnan Province seized more than 89 kg of methamphetamine in a recent case, local police said Wednesday.
After receiving a tip on drug trafficking on June 26, police in Longchuan County, Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture sent a task force immediately to the city of Ruili in Dehong to investigate the case. They seized 10 packages of methamphetamine weighing 89.07 kg on the following day.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
Yunnan is a major front in China's battle against drug crime, as it borders the Golden Triangle known for its rampant drug production and trafficking.
