Iran's Zob Ahan to face Saudi club at Asian Champions League

TEHRAN, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Zob Ahan soccer club will play against the victors of the tie between Saudi Arabia clubs Al Ahli and Al Hilal if the Iranian team beat Al Ittihad, Tasnim news agency reported.

The 2019 AFC Champions League quarterfinal lineup was finalized following the official draw ceremony at the AFC House on Tuesday.

Defending champions Kashima Antlers, aiming to create history by becoming the first Japanese side to win back-to-back titles, will face two-time AFC Champions League winners Guangzhou Evergrande FC from China.

Japan's Urawa Red Diamonds, champions in 2007 and 2017, will lock horns with China's Shanghai SIPG, who have never advanced past the quarterfinals in their previous appearances.

The West Zone quarterfinals promise to be exciting affairs as the winner sof the Round 16 tie between Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr and Al Wahda FSCC of the United Arab Emirates will square off against the victors of the clash between Qatar clubs Al Duhail and Al Saad.

The other West Zone quarterfinal will see the winners of the Al Ittihad (Saudi Arabia) and Zob Ahan Round 16 tie pitted against the victors of the tie between Saudi Arabia clubs Al Ahli and Al Hilal.

The first leg will be played on August 27 with the return leg on September 17.
