BELGRADE, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Britain, France, Spain and Serbia became the semifinalists of the FIBA Women's Eurobasket 2019 at the Belgrade Arena on Thursday.
Britain beat Hungary in the first quarterfinal match by 62-59 (15-13, 17-9, 16-16, 14-21). Temi Fagbenle was most efficient in the winner's ranks with 29 points and 8 rebounds.
Spain convincingly defeated Russia by 78-54 (19-16, 25-12, 17-17, 17-9). Astou Ndour contributed with 24 points and 12 rebounds.
France eliminated world No. 4 side Belgium by 84-80 (27-26, 8-16, 19-22, 14-14, 16-12) after extra time. Sandrine Gruda was the hero of the match with 33 points and 10 rebounds.
In the last quarterfinal game, host Serbia overpowered Sweden by 87-49 (21-12, 22-9, 21-12, 23-16). Best in the home team was Ana Dabovic with 19 points.
In Saturday's semifinals, France face Britain, and Serbia meet Spain. Enditem
