BERLIN, July 5 (Xinhua) -- German Bundesliga side Schalke have completed the transfer of striker Benito Raman from league rivals Fortuna Dusseldorf, the "Royal Blues" confirmed on Friday.
The 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal, which will keep the striker until June 2024 in Gelsenkirchen.
"We are very delighted that Benito has opted for Schalke. In the past season, he has shown with his 10 goals and six assists that he can point the way on the highest level," Schalke head coach David Wagner said.
Raman wore Dusseldorf's jersey since August 2017 and marked ever since 21 goals in 61 encounters.
"I am very happy to be here. Several Belgian players have reached great things at Schalke. If I can build on their achievements it would make me very proud. I will give everything," Raman told the club's official homepage.
The new arrival will wear the jersey number 9 at Schalke.
