Accidental blast kills 2 servicemen at Azerbaijani military unit

BAKU, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Two servicemen were killed and another one critically injured in an accidental explosion at a military unit, Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry said on Saturday.

The blast happened when one of the servicemen dropped a tank shell cartridge on the ground, the ministry said in a statement.

The deceased were identified as an ensign and a junior sergeant. Another sergeant was also critically injured.

An investigation has been launched into the incident.
