BELGRADE, July 6 (Xinhua) -- France and Spain advanced to the final of the FIBA Women's Eurobasket here Saturday, beating Britain and Serbia respectively at the Belgrade Arena.
In the first semifinal match, France defeated Britain 63-56 (12-16, 22-18, 18-12, 11-10).
Marine Johannes was best in the winning team with 20 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Endene Miyem added another 16 points.
Rachel Vanderwal scored 12 points for Britain.
After a turnover of Serbia in the middle of the final quarter, Spain maintained their calm, and defeated the home team 71-66 (21-11, 16-19, 21-20, 13-16).
Astou Ndour once again shined in Spanish national team with 17 points, the same score achieved by Jelena Brooks on the losing side.
Britain and Serbia will fight for bronze on Sunday at the Belgrade Arena where France and Spain clash in the final.
In the 5th-8th playoffs today, Belgium defeated Hungary, and Russia beat Sweden.
