China's ZTE, Moutai join hands in 5G application

BEIJING, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese telecom giant ZTE and leading liquor brand Kweichow Moutai reached consensus on 5G application to promote national brands.

The cooperation would center on 5G application, "smart Moutai" development, college education and medical treatment.

Moutai will introduce 5G, big data and other cutting-edge technologies into production management while passing on and carrying forward the traditional techniques, said Li Baofang, chairman of Moutai Group.

He said that Moutai will work with ZTE to promote the 5G strategic cooperation agreements, explore new convergence models for traditional and information industries, and build world-class national enterprises.

ZTE has obtained 25 commercial 5G contracts globally and cooperated with 60 mobile operators in 5G, partnering with firms including China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, Orange, Telefonica, Italy's Wind Tre and Indonesia's Telkomsel.
