ADDIS ABABA, July 9 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Tuesday.

--Eight people were killed and 11 others injured in a conflict in Metekel zone, Benishangul-Gumuz regional state of Ethiopia, the regional state's peace building and security bureau has said.

Those injured in the conflict which occurred in Mandura woreda (district) were admitted to medical center, according to Abera Bayeta, head of the bureau. In addition to the lives lost and injuries, the conflict also caused damages to properties, he said. (FBC)

--The Ethiopian National Defense is set to file charges against individuals and media that were engaged in creating distrust between the public and the army.
