Indonesia's two provinces to host annual cycling Tour de Singkarak

JAKARTA, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's two provinces in Sumatra, Jambi and West Sumatra, will jointly host the annual international cycling event of Tour de Singkarak slated for November 2 to 10 this year.

The annual race is sanctioned by the world's cycling sport governing body, the Union Cycliste Internationale. It is ranked the fifth largest in the world after Tour de France, Giro de Italia, Vuelta Espana and Santos Tour Down Under in term of spectator number.

Last year, the race was participated by cyclists from five domestic teams and 15 international teams from 15 countries and regions, offering a total reward of 2.3 billion rupiah (about 163,100 U.S. Dollars).
