TAIPEI, July 10 (Xinhua) -- About 54.4 percent of companies in Taiwan plan to raise employees' salaries in the second half of this year, lower than the 57.4 percent in the same period last year, according to a survey released Wednesday by job website Yes123.
About 44.8 percent of the 875 companies surveyed said they planned to raise salaries based on employees' performances while 9.6 percent said they would raise salaries for all employees.
On average, the companies plan to raise salaries by 3.5 percent in the coming months of this year, it said.
Industry-wise, the science, technology, and communications industries were the most willing to raise salaries, followed by the manufacturing, financial, insurance and accounting industries.
