Pic story: straw handicraftsman combines traditional techniques with innovation

Han Liuye creates straw handicrafts at his workshop in Shijiazhuang, capital of north China's Hebei Province, July 10, 2019. Han Liuye, a straw handicraftsman from Zhangjiakou City, has learned to make straw handicrafts from his grandmother since he was young. When he was 10, Han was able to create various art works made from materials like corn husks and reed leaves. Han established a workshop to combine traditional techniques with innovation in order to inherit the skills. He also came to schools and communities to demonstrate the art of the straw handicrafts.
