Wang Wenzhuo prepares to play Guzheng at a training center in Hejin City, north China's Shanxi Province, July 15, 2019. Wang Wenzhuo, a player of Guzheng, or Chinese zither, has been suffering from high paraplegia caused by an accident when she was six. Years of endeavor failed to help her recover. Wang had to drop out of school due to health condition after she completed primary school. Yet, she did not give up and found herself interested in music while enjoying television and radio shows. A local Guzheng training center accepted Wang Wenzhuo to learn the traditional Chinese instrument with no expense. From then on, Wang and her parents have got into an everyday routine of learning Guzheng in the center 20 kilometers away from home. Two years of learning experience rewards Wang proficiency and skills. In 2019, she started to perform in public with her teacher and to participate in contests. "I feel confident and courageous when I'm practicing Guzheng and fantasizing about performing on stage," the player says. (Xinhua/Liu Liangliang)
