BEIJING, July 18 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Wang Yang met here Thursday with Liberia's President Pro Tempore of the Senate Albert Chie.
Wang, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, said China and Liberia are good friends and partners who respect each other and treat each other as equals.
Wang said the two sides should jointly promote the Belt and Road Initiative and implement the outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Beijing Summit, deepen political mutual trust, strengthen pragmatic cooperation and facilitate bilateral cooperation to yield more progress.
Wang also expressed the readiness of CPPCC National Committee to enhance friendly exchanges with Liberia's Senate.
Chie said Liberia admires China's great achievements in reform and opening up and thanked China for its support and assistance to Liberia.
Liberia firmly adheres to the one-China policy, and will actively participate in the construction of the Belt and Road to strengthen win-win cooperation, said Chie.
