TIRANA, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Road accidents in Albania for the month of June 2019 decreased by 7.75 percent year-on-year, the state statistical institute (INSTAT) said in a report on Monday.
According to the official data, in June a total of 131 road accidents were registered,down from 142 registered in June 2018.
In this month 187 people were registered, a decrease of 13.8 percent year-on-year in the number of casualties, killed and injured persons, down from 217 people registered in June 2018.
In 91.6 percent of cases, road accidents occurred as a result of the driver's behavior.
According to INSTAT, the highest number of road accidents was carried out by the age group of 25-35, accounting for 31.3 percent of the total number of accidents, an indicator that increased by 10.8 percent year-on-year.
Meanwhile, INSTAT report showed that in the first six months of this year a total of 714 road accidents were registered in Albania,down by 10.9 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Enditem
