WASHINGTON, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Chicago Bulls forward Thaddeus Young has been invited to participate in USA Basketball's training camp ahead of the upcoming Men's World Cup in China, local media reported on Monday.

Young, who recently signed with the Bulls as a free agent, averaged 12.6 points and 6.5 rebounds with the Indiana Pacers last season, his 12th in the NBA.

Team U.S. have taken a blow after some key players announced to skip the World Cup, including Anthony Davis (New Orleans Pelicans), James Harden and Eric Gordon (Houston Rockets) and CJ McCollum (Portland Trail Blazers).

Bradley Beal (Washington Wizards) and Tobias Harris (Philadelphia 76ers) also announced their withdrawal from the U.S. team on Monday.

The training camp, to be used to select finalists for the World Cup squad, will be held in Las Vegas between August 5-9.
