SYDNEY, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Australian World Cup star Robbie Kruse is set to rejoin the A-League side Melbourne Victory for the next two seasons, with the club announcing the signature of the pacy winger on Tuesday.

After spending eight years abroad in Germany's Bundesliga with Dusseldorf, Bayer Leverkusen, Stuttgart and Bochum, the 30-year-old also spent a season with Chinese Super League outfit Liaoning in 2017.

Now with 75 appearances for the Australian national team, the speedster said he's very "excited" about returning home after leaving for Europe in 2009.

"It was an incredible experience, but to have the opportunity to come back to the A-League and represent Victory again is really special," Kruse said.

"I have great memories playing with Victory and of the club as a whole. It helped me set expectations of myself as a player and ground me professionally."

With the A-League season officially set to get underway in October, new head coach of the four-time Aussie champions Marco Kurz said, "securing Robbie's services for the next two years is a big win for the club."

"We see in Robbie a player not only with great experience here in Australia and overseas but also someone that fits the culture of the club," he added.

The financial terms of contract have not yet been made public.
