WASHINGTON, July 24 (Xinhua) -- World champions US women's team will play two friendly matches against Portugal on August 29 and September 3, the US Soccer Association announced on Wednesday.

The two matches, part of the team's victory tour after winning the World Cup early this month, will be played at Philadelphia on August 29 and St. Paul, Minnesota five days later.

The US women's team last faced Portugal on November 8, 2018, a 1-0 victory in Lisbon with a goal from Jessica McDonald that marked the historic 500th victory in US women's national team's history.

The US team will also play against Ireland at Pasadena, California on August 3.

The US Soccer Association said two more friendly matches will be scheduled on October 3 and 6.

Since losing their first game of 2019 to France, the team are unbeaten in their last 16 matches, including a 13-game winning streak and seven consecutive victories at the World Cup. Enditem
