China Armed Police sent to Guizhou after landslide

GUIYANG, July 25 (Xinhua) -- China Armed Police were deployed Tuesday to support personnel on the ground after a landslide in a village in Guizhou Province, southwest China.

On Tuesday night, 65 armed police arrived in Shuicheng County and and managed to dredge a landslide dam. They remained at their post in case of future hazards.

On Wednesday, another 120 armed police joined the rescue armed with more equipment.

The landslide occured around 9:20 p.m. Tuesday in a village in the city of Liupanshui, leaving 15 people dead as of Thursday.
