East China's Shandong to invest over 1 tln yuan in major projects in 2019

JINAN, July 26 (Xinhua) -- East China's Shandong Province aims to invest more than 1 trillion yuan (145.4 billion U.S. dollars) by the end of this year to speed up the construction of its major projects, local authorities said Friday.

Shandong will focus on the implementation of major projects, including 120 provincial key projects and 500 projects related to replacing old growth drivers with new ones, with investments of 613 billion yuan and 890 billion yuan respectively, provincial government spokesman Xia Zongyuan told a press conference.

Meanwhile, the province will continue to expand effective investment of 330 billion yuan this year in infrastructure projects such as transportation, water conservancy, energy and urban construction.

The 10 railways, 27 highways and four airports, as well as the network construction of 5G base stations in Jinan, Qingdao and Yantai that are currently under construction, will be accelerated, according to the local authorities.
