BEIJING, July 29 (Xinhua) -- Floods exceeding the alarm level are expected to hit parts of northeast China's Heilongjiang and southwestern Tuojiang on Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Water Resources.

Due to the heavy precipitation, the main stream of Heilongjiang river near the Kalunshan reaches will see its water exceeding alarm levels, while the lower reaches of Tuojiang river will be struck by above-warning-level floods on Tuesday.

The ministry has warned local departments of possible landslides and other disasters and urged them to step up preparation work.

As of now, nine work teams have been dispatched to the affected provinces of Hebei and Heilongjiang to guide the flood control work.
