Daqin Railway, a major coal railway in N China, receives daily "health" check in summer time by inspectors to ensure transportation safety.

BEIJING, July 30, 2019 (Xinhua) -- As the temperature rises, more than 400 patrol inspectors work along the Daqin Railway on a daily basis to ensure the transportation safety.

A total of 218.2 million tonnes of cargo were transported via Daqin Railway, a major coal railway in northern China, in the first half of 2019. In June, the railway transported 35.82 million tonnes of cargo, and an average of 82.9 heavy-haul trains ran daily on the railway.

The 653-km railway, which links the city of Datong in coal-rich Shanxi Province with the port city of Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, was officially launched on Dec. 28, 1988.
