MACAO, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Visitors on package tours to Macao reached 4.91 million in the first half of 2019, a growth of 14.9 percent year-on-year, the special administrative region's statistic service said here on Tuesday.
The latest report from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) showed that the outbound Macao residents using travel agency services totaled 828,000 in the first half year, up by 8.3 percent year-on-year.
Among them, those traveling under own arrangements (560,000) grew by 13.5 percent, whereas those traveling on package tours (268,000) decreased by 1.1 percent.
The DSEC report added that in June 2019, the package tour visitors to Macao increased by 15.2 percent year-on-year to 779,000, mainly from the Chinese mainland (602,000), South Korea (53,000) and China's Taiwan (59,000), rising by 16.9 percent, 14.4 percent and 1.3 percent respectively.
The outbound Macao residents using travel agency services totaled 142,000 in June, up by 16.1 percent year-on-year.
