BOGOTA, July 30 (Xinhua) -- At least 11 inmates were injured during a prison riot in Barranquilla, northern Colombia, Barranquilla's Metropolitan Police said on Tuesday.
The riot happened at the local prison of "El Bosque" in the Atlantico department, which is located near the Caribbean ocean.
The riot started on Monday night due to drug trafficking related issues and lasted until the early hours of Tuesday, according to relatives of the detainees.
Six of the inmates were stabbed and five others got bumps and bruises.
The police restored order at the incarceration center and the injured were taken to health facilities. Enditem
