NAIROBI, July 30 (Xinhua) -- The Kenyan rugby 15s team is seeking to extend its winning streak when it takes on Zimbabwe in the Victoria Cup tournament.

With wins over Uganda and Zambia, Kenya holds the lead in the round robin, home and away tournament, which brings together four nations.

Head coach Paul Odera is upbeat that team will overcome its strongest challenge in Harare on Saturday and return home to strategize on the home matches against the Zambians and Zimbabweans.

"The team has shown growth and consistence and it will be important if we can exhibit the same against Zimbabwe. They are strong and hold advantage physically. Kenya has played against Zimbabwe in the Gold Cup," said Odera on Tuesday.

Kenya has connected directly from Lusaka to Harare and is expected to face defending champion Zimbabwe, who seeks revenge after the Kenya side the Simbas edged them out in the defunct Gold Cup tournament last year.

Odera guided Kenya to dismiss Zambia 43-23 in a tight encounter in Kitwe, Zambia last weekend.

Odera said that Isaac Njoroge is the only injured player on the squad and he will be monitored closely before they name the final squad for Saturday game.

Odera is expected to settle on the games approach to limit the space for their opponents to exploit.
