Forest fire in China's Lushan Mountain put out

NANCHANG, July 31 (Xinhua) -- A forest fire in east China's Lushan Mountain has been put out, local authorities said.

The blaze in the mountain, a world heritage site located in Jiangxi Province, was caused by a lightning strike, according to preliminary analysis.

No casualties have been reported, according to the provincial emergency management department.

The fire, reported by a monitoring station at around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, is located on the cliffs, away from important facilities. Firefighters and helicopters were sent to put out the fire.

Currently, the fire has been largely extinguished and the firefighters are carrying out follow-up work to prevent reignition.
