The third China International Import Expo (CIIE) opens registration of commercial exhibitors

The third CIIE has started registration of exhibitors after the upcoming second such event has signed up more than 3,000 companies from over 150 countries and regions.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- The third China International Import Expo (CIIE) has opened registration of exhibitors in the enterprise and business exhibition area, the CIIE organizer said on Thursday.

Enterprises from abroad can register on the CIIE's official website starting from Aug. 1, according to the organizer.

According to the requirements, the enterprise and business exhibition of the CIIE only accepts enterprises outside the customs territory of the People's Republic of China, including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, to participate. Only goods produced abroad or services provided abroad are accepted for display in the area.

The second CIIE, slated to take place in early November this year in Shanghai, will feature seven exhibition categories, including sci-tech life, automobiles, equipment, medical equipment and healthcare products, quality life, trade in service, and agricultural products.

A total of 172 countries, regions and international organizations and more than 3,600 enterprises participated in the first CIIE, held from Nov. 5 to 10 in 2018 in Shanghai. It was the world's first import-themed national-level expo.

The second CIIE has attracted more than 3,000 companies from over 150 countries and regions to sign up.
