BUDAPEST, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- The visiting American U-18 hockey team beat the Hungarian U20 side 6-4 here on Thursday in a friendly.

In the first period, the home team got the lead with a goal from Samuel Peter Donat at 10:28. The joy of the cheering Hungarians was short-lived as the Americans equalized the score half a minute later at 10:53 thanks to Alex Gaffney, and only three minutes later Cross Hanas gave the Americans 2-1 lead at 13:19.

In the second period, the two teams each scored one goal, the Hungarians evened the score at 20:42 with Kristof Papp (2-2), and the Hungarians held the line almost a quarter of an hour before the U.S. team took the lead yet again with a goal from Ryan Beck at 32:40.

The last period was the most eventful. American Cross Hanas widened the lead to 4-2 at 40:22, but Kristod Papp scored his second goal to narrow the gap. Thanks to the skills of Samuel Peter Donat, the host team tied the score again at 4-4, but that was the last goal of the Hungarians.

The Americans managed to send the puck in the Hungarian net twice during the remaining minutes, with Noah Ellis at 49:39 and Mark Estapa at 55:10.
