BEIJING, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- China's culture sector and related businesses kept steady and fast growth in the first half of the year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
The total revenue of the culture sector and related businesses hit 4.06 trillion yuan (about 588 billion U.S. dollars) in the first half of the year, up 7.9 percent year on year, according to an NBS survey on nearly 56,000 enterprises each with annual operating revenue of 20 million yuan.
Specifically, eight of the nine culture-related sectors saw their business revenues rise in H1, with three of them registering double-digit growth, the NBS said.
News and information services boasted the fastest growth in H1 with the total revenue standing at 299.7 billion yuan, rising 25.1 percent from the previous year.
Meanwhile, the revenue of creative design services, and cultural investment and operation amounted to 542.4 billion yuan and 19.8 billion yuan respectively, up 12.4 percent and 10.2 percent, data from the NBS showed.
