BEIJING, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese film centered on armed police has finished shooting in Turpan, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the film's director An Zhanjun said Saturday.
The film consists of three independent stories of armed police officers that tell how they conducted anti-drug missions, fought terrorists and rescued hostages, as well as how their family members supported them.
One of the stories took place in Xinjiang, where Li Baoguo, an armed policeman, as well as a cancer patient, helped local people in disaster relief operations.
Li died of illness in the end, leaving a last wish to serve his country again in his next life. The stories demonstrate the noble qualities of China's armed policemen, said An.
An's film "The Parking Attendant in July" won the Special Grand Prix of the Jury at the 2004 Montreal World Film Festival.
