SOFIA, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Bulgarian authorities have shut down an illegal cannabis production greenhouse equipped to the highest technological level, and arrested three suspects, the Interior Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
The facility, which was located in the village of Iskrets in a mountainous area some 45 km north of Sofia, was furnished with air-conditioners, heat lamps, a computer-controlled irrigation system and other high-tech cannabis growing and drying equipment, the statement said.
During the operation, the authorities seized "hundreds of pots with cannabis plants at different stages of maturity, as well as a large amount of cannabis prepared for drying," the statement said.
Two men from Sofia aged 25 and 31 and a 38-year-old man from Varna were arrested on the spot.
