DAMASCUS, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- A car bomb went off in Syria's northeastern province of al-Hasakah on Wednesday, causing damage, state news agency SANA said.

The car bomb exploded near a communication center in the town of Qahtaniyeh in the countryside of al-Hasakah, leaving damage in the center.

No details about human losses were revealed yet.

On Aug. 4, four explosions took place in al-Hasakah, causing injuries.

On July 11, four explosions hit Syria's al-Hasakah, wounding 13 people.

The explosions are in a series of bombing targeting areas controlled by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in al-Hasakah and its countryside.

The Islamic State (IS), which has lost key areas to the SDF in eastern Syria, has claimed responsibility for several explosions targeting the Kurdish-controlled areas.

The Kurdish forces have made significant wins in the battles against the IS in eastern Syria with the help of the U.S.-led coalition, which made it a target of frequent explosions by the terrorist group.
