TOKYO, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened flat Thursday, as some investors opted to buy back issues oversold.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged up 4.96 points, or 0.02 percent, from Wednesday to 20,521.52.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 3.49 points, or 0.23 percent, at 1,496.44.
Miscellaneous product and rubber product issues comprised notable gainers, while oil and coal product, and mining-oriented issues comprised those that declined the most. Enditem
