MEXICO CITY, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Ecuador international forward Bryan Angulo has joined Mexico's Cruz Azul from Emelec after agreeing to a three-year contract, the Liga MX club said on Thursday.

Angulo completed a medical at Cruz Azul's Mexico City training ground before facing the media for the first time with his new club.

"It makes me very happy to have realized a dream of coming to a big club," the 23-year-old told reporters.

"There are a lot of fast footballers in this league and that should suit the way I play."

Angulo scored 52 goals in 107 appearances for Emelec in Ecuador's top flight, having joined the Guayaquil outfit in 2015 from Rocafuerte.

He is expected to be available for his new club's home clash with Juarez on Saturday. Cruz Azul are currently 15th in the 19-team Liga MX Apertura standings after three rounds.
