Green channel: Vehicles transporting vegetables, fruits, aquatic products in China will enjoy more preferential policies to ensure the freshness of these agricultural products.
BEIJING, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- China will continue to implement a "green channel" policy for vehicles transporting fresh agricultural products and further enhance services in the sector, according to the Ministry of Transport (MOT).
Vehicles transporting fresh agricultural products under the country's unified list should be exempt from expressway tolls, the MOT said in a circular.
Explaining the preferential policy, Wu Dejin, an MOT official, said such products should account for above 80 percent of its verified loading or volume capacity and should not be loaded together with other non-fresh agricultural products.
Vegetables, fruits, aquatic products and other agricultural products were included in China's fresh agricultural products list.
At the same time, China will further optimize the tolling of freight vehicles without increasing overall expenditure burdens, the ministry said in another circular.
