NAIROBI, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Kenya women's national football team will play Ethiopia in a friendly on Saturday in Machakos, east of Nairobi.
Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa said on Tuesday night that the match will help the team prepare for the Olympic qualifiers.
"This match will set up the team as it gears up for the upcoming Olympic qualifier against Malawi," said Mwendwa.
Kenya will play Malawi in first leg on August 28 away in Blantyre, with the second leg slated for September 1 in Nairobi.
Having received a bye in the first round, the Malawi tie will be Kenya's second round match. The winner will play either Gabon or Ghana in the third round. Kenya missed out on the Africa Women's Cup of Nations, losing to Equatorial Guinea in qualifying.
The tournament, which is in its fifth edition, will determine which team qualifies for the 2020 Olympic Games in Japan.
