Barca Academy Pro trains Chinese young players

HAIKOU, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Barca Academy Pro Haikou Summer Camp closed at the Haikou Barca Academy Pro on Thursday. The summer camp lasted for five days and involved 134 young players from all over the country.

The summer Camp includes nine training sessions and two theory lessons. The training content of this activity focus on the basic concepts of the Barcelona football, the training and competition methods and the Barcelona system.

"I know my position and role in the game after training," Ma Chaoyang, who took part in the camp said. "I want to be a football player like Messi when I grow up. "

The summer Camp is a unique opportunity to feel as a Barca player. Train with coaches from FC Barcelona following the clubs methodology and learn more about style of play.

"We don't like to train athletes, we would like to educate people to become good person," said Manel Guerrero Arca, head coach of Barca Academy Pro.

"We use 'a way to play, a way to grow' as our motto and we teach the same methodology as in FC Barcelona - La Masia, but for us the most important thing are our five values - humility, effort, ambition, respect and team work," he added.

Barca Academy Pro Haikou was opened in February 2017, which is directly managed by FC Barcelona and it's a joint venture with Mission Hills Group.

It is model for unique and distinct project that aim to extend the FC Barcelona model and pro Barca mote the club's working philosophy in China.

"At this moment we have five academies in China - Haikou, Qingdao, Chengdu, Kunming, Lijiang and in 2021 we will open Fuxian Hu in Yunnan province," said Liu rui, director of Barca Academy Pro.

By now more than 6,000 children have been trained by FC Barcelona coaches through camps, programs and local school courses between 4-14 years old.
