In 2018, organized by the Changchun Women's Federation, women in Quanyan Village participated in a straw weaving training course, which made those including Zhang Hongmei realize that corn leaves can be turned into exquisite handicrafts. In July of the same year, Zhang Hongmei gathered the women in her village and started a cooperative to develop corn leaf weaving skills. Through more than half a year's trial, they finally made hundreds of products, attracting many merchants and consumers.
