LONDON, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 1.02 percent, or 72.50 points, to close at 7,189.65 points.
Ocado Group, an online grocer, soared 4.60 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. TUI and Glencore increased by 4.10 percent and 3.81 percent, respectively.
Fresnillo, a Mexican-based precious metals mining company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 1.75 percent.
