BEIJING, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Digging a little deeper into the political timeline of Albert Ho Chun-Yan, one may easily wonder how a man so lacking in integrity and credibility can find peace in disguising himself as a so-called champion of democracy or spokesman of Hong Kong people.

Truly, it did take scandal-ravaged Ho much in terms of political thievery, sophistry, trimming sails to the wind, as well as confounding right and wrong, to earn himself the position as a proxy of Western anti-China forces in Hong Kong as well as a mastermind behind the Hong Kong chaos.

LACK OF INTEGRITY

Ho was found to have repeatedly concealed or omitted part of his assets in personal asset declaration reports during Hong Kong's legislative and chief executive elections.

He attacked a political opponent for alleged illegal construction problems and then was found to have a structure illegally built at his own housing unit, leaving him described in the media as "strict with others but lenient to himself."

Ho was revealed to have accepted the hospitality of an airline along with his family in what was reported to be a "free group tour" that involved a potential conflict of interest.

His "popularity" skyrocketed in 2014 when Ho, then seated at the Legislative Council Complex to hear a budget plan delivered by the financial secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government, was photographed browsing sexy photos of women on a computer tablet, stirring a public outcry.

BLOWING IN THE WIND

Ho is a person who bends with the wind, whatever his position, from a district council member, chairman of the Democratic Party, to a Legislative Council member.

Following a defeat in challenging the 2012 HKSAR chief executive election, Ho took the lead in 2015 to oppose an HKSAR government-proposed motion for universal suffrage for selecting the next HKSAR chief executive in 2017, severely hindering the democratic development in Hong Kong.

Recent years have seen more moves made by Ho to cater to the stance of anti-China forces in the West, from disrupting the HKSAR government's work, attacking the social and judicial systems on the Chinese mainland to challenging the bottom line of the "one country, two systems" principle.

As a result of all these efforts, Ho succeeded in winning himself the attention of the anti-China forces in the West and became a political proxy supported by the United States in Hong Kong.

INSTIGATOR OF VIOLENCE

Amid the current chaos in Hong Kong related to ordinance amendments, Ho jumped high and shouted loud to show his antagonism toward the proposed amendments, pretending to be a "just man full of passion."

However, he, just like Martin Lee Chu-ming, used to be a supporter and promotor of the legislative move.

Ho expressed support for the legislation on transferring fugitives between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong in the British administration before Hong Kong's return to China, according to Hong Kong media reports.

Belying his profession as a lawyer, Ho encouraged violence against Hong Kong police and instigated lawless violent actions from behind the scenes.

On Aug. 3, Ho, together with other masterminds disrupting Hong Kong, including Jimmy Lai Chee-ying and Martin Lee, held a secret meeting with a man from the U.S.

Individuals like Ho, who sell off the interests of China, including Hong Kong, to please the United States for their own benefits, are obvious pawns of foreign forces seeking to agitate for a "color revolution."
