HANGZHOU, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Alibaba's logistics arm Cainiao Network said Tuesday that it has installed 1,500 green recycling bins in east China's Zhejiang Province in cooperation with other leading Chinese courier companies.

The move is to further promote the recycling of express cartons and packaging materials in the province.

Cainiao's partners at present are STO Express, YTO Express and Shanghai Yunda Express. They can share the 1,500 recycling bins across the province.

"Recycling stations" were initiated by Cainiao, which were mainly set up in campuses and enabled its customers to donate express cartons right after receiving their parcel to others who needed to send parcels of their own.

Zhejiang Province is one of the most developed provinces in China's express delivery industry. The province's parcel volume last year exceeded 10 billion, accounting for about one-fifth of the whole volume of the country.
