Tunisia to participate in 2nd China import expo: minister

TUNIS, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian Minister of Commerce Omar Behi said Thursday that Tunisia is to participate in the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) late this year.

The minister made the remarks in a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Tunisia Wang Wenbin, who invited Tunisia to take part in the CIIE to be held from Nov. 5-10 in the city of Shanghai.

Behi expressed his gratitude to China for extending the invitation to Tunisia and providing assistance for its participation in the expo.

He said Tunisia has great expectation for the expo, which could help promote Tunisia as a good tourist and investment destination to Chinese tourists and enterprises.

Tunisian Ministry of Commerce has announced that Tunisia reserved a pavilion at the Shanghai expo, with the participation of 10 Tunisian companies for exporting olive oil, dates and other products.
